You’re not just a patient, you’re part of the family

Remember the last time you had a really good laugh? Not a chuckle. Or a polite smile at an off-center joke. But a body-shaking howl that felt so good it had your soul shimmying like your crazy Uncle Bob in a Conga line.

That’s how good we want our patients to feel.

But that’s hard to do when you can’t savor that sweet corn because your teeth hurt. Or you cringe through every “Kodak Moment" because you’ve got that wonky front tooth.

You know you can feel better. But you’re not exactly over the moon about dental visits.

It’s not just the procedure you dread. It’s the whole process.

The “what’s your insurance provider?” welcome. The Waiting Room with withering copies of Golf Digest from 2001. The solo ficus cowering in the corner. The smell of fear and fluoride in the air.

You still can’t figure out why you’re paying so much for someone in latex gloves to spend 5 minutes looking disapprovingly in your mouth.

Yeah, we can’t either.

As a kid I spent a LOT of time in the dental chair. My parents weren’t well off. My Dad was a mechanic—probably where I got my love for taking things apart and putting them back together. But they were adamant that all of their kids got dental care.

Even if it meant they went without.

I still get the shivers when I think about those visits to “The Chair". The buzzing drill and plume of smoke.

I never understood why a place that fixed people’s smiles could feel so sterile. And serious.

So, when I got started 31 years ago, I envisioned an entirely different experience. One where patients felt listened to, understood—physically and emotionally.

Did I succeed? My patients certainly think so. And it’s not just because we’ve replaced that lonely ficus plant with a lovely waterfall. Come see for yourself!

"The office is a boutique style and feels intimate like your about to receive individualized care, which is exactly what you get. Dr. Kim actually sat down and talked with me instead of jumping from patient to patient."

meet-the-team

We’ve been together for so long (15 years!), some of our patients think we’re telepathic.
We’re laugh-out-loud jokesters and continuing education junkies.
And we care as deeply about our patients as we do our craft.

Okay, Kim’s one of the few who LOVED going to the dentist as a kid. Luckily for us, she brings that same enthusiasm to our office.

"You will not find a more customer focused dentist office. Dr. Okamura’s chair side manner is simply above the fray. She takes time to get to know you and does whatever she can to make you feel comfortable. "
